Daniel Theuri, ITDG, Kenya, receives a runners-up prize (7,500 pounds sterling) for harnessing the power of water to generate affordable clean electricity for remote rural communities who don\'t have access to grid power. In the words of the judges, \"ITDG\'s pilot \'pico hydro\' projects have shown how it\'s possible for even small streams to be tapped for precious electricity: - a model which can be rolled out across most of the country\'s uplands.\"
