Namibia: tender open for 4th turbine at Ruacana

Namibia's national power utility, the Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower), has issued a tender for the appointment of a contractor to undertake the civil works portion of a project to add a fourth turbine-generator unit to its Ruacana hydropower plant, on the country's northwest boundary with Angola.
The utility stated in a tender document on its website that it wanted to add a 105-MVA unit to the existing power plant, which already comprised of three 83-MW units.

The contract would include the civil works for the unit, a new outdoor warehouse, and a new employer's residential area comprising eight chalets and a canteen.
