Job opening for Energy Specialist at local World Bank office in Mozambique

The World Bank AFTEG group intends to recruit an Energy Specialist for a position based in Maputo, Mozambique. The new position reflects the growing energy work program in AFCS2 countries (in particular Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe and Malawi) and other Southern African countries. Closing date is the 13th of November 2009.
The person selected will have the following responsibilities: (i) anchor and lead/co-lead energy sector dialogue, operations, Analytic and Advisory Activities (AAA), and Trust Funds in Mozambique; (ii) assist teams in the design, preparation, appraisal, and supervision of projects or components in other AFCS2/Southern African countries; (iii) support the development of regional energy programs, trust funded analytical and advisory activities and projects such as the Mozambique Regional Transmission Project (CESUL), collaborate with and support regional institutions such as the Regional Electricity Regulators Association of Southern Africa (RERA) and Southern Africa Power Pool (SAPP); and, (iv) ensure close coordination with development partners, regional institutions and other Bank Group teams in pursuing the above activities and projects.
