A 470 MW integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC) power plant has been opened in Morocco. Abener constructed the solar combined cycle plant in Ain Beni Mathar. It combines solar with conventional gas. The parabolic trough solar field has a reflective surface of more than 180 000 m2, and with a capacity of 22 MW. The remaining 450 MW comes from a steam turbine (150 MW) and two gas turbines producing 150 MW each. Additional information: News date: 23/06/2010 |
