South African utility ESKOM has issued a Request for Information on Solar Augmentation at their power plants. On Thursday 27 September, ESKOM issued a RFI for the 'Procurement and Construction Contracts for the Design, Supply and Installation of individual installations of Solar Augmentation (also known as Solar Boost) at various Eskom-operated Power Stations across South Africa' Deadline for submission is 31 October 2012. The RFI is to test whether capacity exist in this respect and successfully demonstrate the technology before roiling it out to several power stations.
