The Federal government of Nigeria has approved the 2000MW Mambilla Plateau hydro power project in Adamawa State. The Mambilla power project was mooted in 1982 while the feasibility study was approved in 1985. The Chinese Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria for proceeding with the project. The power project is part of an effort by Nigeria to increase power output by about 10,000 megawatts by 2007. Additional information: News date: 27/10/2005 |
