New 2 MW hydropower plant at Lonmin site, Rustenburg, South Africa

Russian nuclear giant Rosatom will begin work on a $40-million 2 MW hydropower plant for South African platinum producer Lonmin in August.
It will be the first time this type of technology is used in a mining application in South Africa.

Hungarian engineering company Ganz Engineering and Energetics Machinery will supply the technology and local company Blue World Power Systems will act as the local distributor.
